Chipping away at our list...

The painting in the master bedroom has begun

ceiling is done...

 The vanity lights are up...

oh and they are really bright...don't let this pic tell you otherwise

 New dark brown trim around the window...

 

Then Grant climbed into the attic to replace the old exhaust fan

he can tell you all about what a pain in the butt it was :)

 But alas it's done!

Looking awesome

Full speed ahead!

I can't believe how much we have got accomplished

the laundry room flooring is done with trim and all :)

 

Oh check out the neat washer-dryer stand we built

now we can say we have tried everything from masonry to carpentry :) 

 Here is Miki posing with it...doesn't it look gorgeous it even has molding! 

Next we have to finish patching the ceiling and painting the walls

then the cabinets can go in :)

Don't worry we haven't forgotten about the master bath

our paint arrived...

 

 So that went up on the wall :)

 The vanity is also in place and ready to connect the plumbing next

Looks awesome!!!

 Now comes the tedious part

clean-up...

we got to get our master bedroom from looking like this....

to this.... :)

Yup....wish us luck for the final push to get it all done

Just 7 weeks to go before the baby gets here....yikes!

Master bath part 9

No we haven't forgotten the master bathroom

the electrician finally came 

this is the light that used to be there...

now we have installed the wiring for the two vanity lights...

 

Here are the gorgeous lights that will be going over the vanity...

very contemporary looking :)

 We also got 4 new outlets installed

plenty of space to plug-in everything we need :)

This week we plan to get all the drywall patched up and mudded

and hopefully will start tiling this weekend !!! :)

Master Bath Part 4

That's right there has been some progress

on the master bath reno

even during our relaxing holiday we got some work done

mostly just selecting, ordering and moving...

Look who's here....another truck

 With our new (heavy) vanity :D

 We thought we would move it upstairs

yeah right I could barely move it

so we took the mirror upstairs and waited for more muscles to arrive :)

 But we just had to take a peek :) 

that's right we did not get the vanity with the vessel sinks

(Aunt Vickie we hope this is the vanity you were rooting for :)

 A side view... can't wait to see it all installed :)

Some more exciting buys...

we bought the tub and moved it up ourselves

 Had to stop midway to take a pic of course...

Love it!

 Grant got some help and they moved the heavy ass vanity 

up a floor....must have been 250lbs+

its up now and it's not going anywhere except into the bathroom that is

 Oh and turns out a toilet is a lot heavier than a tub!

I can't help Grant move this either

so we might take it up in pieces or get help

for now it sits in the garage :)

Today we ordered all the faucets for the shower and tub...

it is all coming together

soooooon it will be all done

can't wait! :D

Master Bath Part 2

Just an update...

So after much struggling the vanity is finally out of the bathroom

  Yeaaaay finally we are getting somewhere :)

 

It now sits in the master bedroom along with everything else

till we figure out what to do with it all

We also got all our tile

porcelain for the floor and glazed ceramic for the walls

with accents and we got some of it at a really good price :)

who doesn't love a good sale

 The tile sits in the laundry room till we get to it :)

This Saturday we are going to be taking the bath tub out with some help

so exciting!!!

Master Bath Part 1

BEFORE

Grant took out the toilet and we took off the tiles
when we first moved in

the toilet is now in the tub :)

The bathroom is not going to look anything like this when we get done :)

 The vanity and mirror...has to go too

 So for some reason they have ~2.5ft between the toilet and the tub,

but only ~1ft between the toilet and the vanity :/

we might get a plumber to give us an estimate on what it will take to move

it to the right about a foot or so

 So not contemporary...

And so it begins...

 

 

Yaaay!

Then we took off the drawers and doors...

 Then the counter top came off...

 

 

Challenge #1...

turns out that the water inlets come in from the floor instead of coming in from the wall :/

we were hoping to re-use the cabinet but we might not do that anymore

will take it to the laundry room instead.

 

 And so we tried to cut it out...

first we needed to take off the drawer channel and support

 The cutting...

 But it just could not be that easy/simple

turns out there is a kick plate at the back too :/

so this is where we left it for now...till we can figure out what we need to do

On an exciting note...we bought tiles for the floor

not sure if you can see the color - it is a light tan/white porcelain

this is just a sample we decided to go with a 12"x12" size

Oh and we have narrowed down our vanity to either this...

We love both of them

Which one do you like???
