Roof color dilemma

It's time to get a new roof!
we asked around for roofing company recommendations and
have been collecting bids from various roofers over the last few weeks
and we have a bid we like but now we got to decide on the color of the roof
which is where we are stuck :/
Here is what the roof looks like right now in the shade

And here is what it looks like in the sun

These are the two shingle options we are considering against the current roof
they are both in the gray family - the one on the left is way lighter than our current roof
and the one of the right looks darker but
when its shady it looks almost the same :/

Here is a rendition of what we think the house will look like
if we go with the lighter shingles on the left
- it will look very close in color to our light blue siding
but we plan to change the color of our shutters
and some trim to create more contrast
- And the big advantage to adding it will be a reduction in the amount of heat
it absorbs and hence make the top story of our house a lot cooler in the summer
- and since it is considered an energy efficient product by consumers energy
we would possibly qualify for some kind of a tax credit

But we are worried that it might not look good
we haven't actually seen a single house with light shingles
but that's just because people follow the norm of a dark roof with light siding

We wonder if making the house more energy efficient will make it more attractive
to the next buyer....hmmmm
Or do we just stick to the norm :/ and use the darker shingles

Not sure what we are going to do but we hope to have a decision made by next week!
