We have both been in our new jobs in Michigan a few months now and have decided to take the next step. We have been planning for it financially for a while now and feel it is the perfect time to get into the real estate market. Yes we are buying a house! Maybe this means we won't be moving anytime again ....anytime soon anyways ;)
We are by no means looking for our dream home, it is more of an investment in our future. We are looking for a modest three bedroom, two bathroom house, attached 2 car garage, in a nice neighborhood, a good school district and easy access to work. We have been looking since January, so far we have looked at about mmmm 10 houses. Put offers on 2 and almost made an offer on a third. The two biggest restrictions for us have been the school district/location and the price.
The last house (we fondly call it "the yellow house") we put an offer on went into foreclosure :/ , so with no clue as to when it will come back we plan to just wait. The hardest wait for us so far!
Yesterday Mike Holmes from HGTV was at the Home Expo in town so we got to go hear him talk about home inspections, mold prevention etc. Love his shows! Uuuh I bought his magazine a few weeks ago and finally read it while watching Grant play at an Ultimate Frisbee game last night...I learned sooo much in just 4 hours :) Awesome!
